Vibration Monitoring for Military Vehicle Crews

VIB@WORK – Whole Body Vibration Sensors

Application

The French Army Technical Section, represented by Jean-Claude Fialaire, an Ergonomist, has integrated Micromega-Dynamics products to ensure safety compliance for military vehicle crews.

The primary product used is the VIB@WORK – Whole Body Vibration sensor, which is essential for measuring vibration levels in various terrains, including roads, tracks, and off-road conditions.

Vibration Monitoring for Military Vehicle Crews

“Very easy to use, especially with the mobile application. There are some occasional issues with PC software that require COM port reconfigurations. Long data retrievals with the mobile app sometimes generate error messages that need to be ignored multiple times to complete the process. Zoom commands in the data viewer are cumbersome; I’d prefer to zoom in on a selected area with the mouse. Sensor autonomy is perfect, though the case is a bit fragile. Calibration pricing is fair, and the calibration service is excellent.”

Monitoring & Norms

The French Army Technical Section uses Micromega-Dynamics products to comply with Decree 2005-746 of July 2005 and the French Labor Code R.4443-1&2.

The VIB@WORK sensor is crucial in monitoring and managing vibration exposure for military vehicle crews, ensuring their safety during operations across different terrains.

Used Material

The VIB@WORK – Whole Body Vibration sensor is employed by the French Army to measure and analyze vibration levels experienced by military vehicle crews.

The sensor is particularly valued for its ease of use, especially with the mobile application, though there are some noted challenges with PC software and data retrieval processes.
